Yesterday (Wednesday), we took a day trip to the Blue Mountains northwest of Sydney. The tour consisted of 13 people total - a perfect size really. It was foggy and a bit drizzly, but we still were able to get some great views of the rock formations, cliffs and waterfall; and take the tram across the valley (it's suspended about 88 stories above the floor), ride the rail car down (more like a very short amusement park ride) and take the cable ride back up again. They have some lovely walks through the bush which, although hard on my knee, were well worth it! We met a lovely family from Swansea (UK)on the mini-bus and we chatted between times when the driver wasn't talking (he was a character!).

On the way back, he took us through Olympic Park and dropped us all at the local ferry stop. We all took the ferry from there into Sydney. By this time it was dark and it was quite lovely to come into Sydney harbor with the city all lit up.

The pictures are of "The Three Sisters" and "Katoomba Falls" in the Blue Mountains.

Can't find the Blue Mountains on the map, Lois. See the Snowy ones...I hadn't realized that this (Amanda's) part of Oz would be mountainous. Hope the rain eases up for you.
Gorgeous. Hope you can get some ice for the knee, if that's what it needs. Must have been troublesome for you to skip a bookshop run.
